Free random tools for everyday decisions
Whether you need a random number for a raffle, dice for a board game, a strong password for a new account, a quick coin toss to settle an argument, fair teams for PE or five-a-side, or a wheel to pick who goes first, everything you need is on this one page. Every tool is 100% free to use, as often as you like – there's nothing to download, no account to create and no limit on how many times you can use them. It works on any phone, tablet or computer.
Random number generator
Choose any range, such as 1 to 10, 1 to 100 or 1 to 1,000, and get an instant random number. Use Increments to pick only certain numbers: an increment of 5 between 0 and 100 can give 0, 5, 10 and so on, and an increment of 0.5 lets you pick half numbers. Both the lowest and highest numbers can be chosen. It's handy for raffles, prize draws, bingo, board games, maths lessons and choosing a random winner.
Password generator
Create a strong random password from 6 to 64 characters, using any mix of capital letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. Or switch to Words mode for a passphrase made of random words joined by numbers or symbols, which is easier to remember and still hard to crack. Passwords are made on your device and never sent anywhere.
Coin flip
Need to flip a coin but don't have one? Press Flip coin for a fair 50/50 heads or tails result, with a running count of heads and tails so you can do best of three, or best of ten.
Dice roller
Lost the dice for a board game? Roll up to ten virtual dice at once and see the total straight away. Choose a normal six-sided die (D6) or the D4, D8, D10, D12 and D20 dice used in role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons. Every face has an equal chance of landing.
Random team generator
Add everyone's names, choose how many teams you need and the team picker shuffles them into fair, random groups. It's great for classrooms, sports teams, quiz nights, work groups and games.
Spin the wheel
Our wheel spinner lets you add your own options – names, prizes, places to eat, chores or anything else – and spin to pick one at random. Every option has an equal chance, so it's a fun and fair random name picker.
